grow up

Everybody grows up, and thats whats happening to us everyday of our lives. We will all grow up move out of our comftorable lives at home one day and go to University. For all I know I never want that day to come. I know I still have a quite a ways to go before I have to live that day, but before then I just want to remember all of the great things I've done and the friends I've had.

Today, it's one of my last days of school in Grade eight. This year has been the most fun year I've had in a long time. The only problem is how fast it's gone by, it's hard to remember all the things we've already done with the class and the things that still wait. I can cleary remember the first day, walking through the doors of Ms. Falcos class. Hugging all of my friends I've missed over the summer. On that day, I was already bored of school and couldn't wait for these days right now to come, but right now I never want this year to end. Throughout all of the months this year everyday was like be in jail of bordem, but the weird thing is in the past few weeks I'm excited for school in the morning. I think its because I'm sad that some of my best friends won't be here next year when I walk through those doors.

I'm excited to have classes and go out for recess. School is just a place to come and just enjoy your time. I bet this whole blog is just sounding ridiculous but it's the truth. Growing up and leaving middle school excites me but yet I'm still so scared. The past three years in middle school have been the most fun, boring and favourite years of my life, but I know I have greater things to come. The people I go to school with are the craziest, and immature people I have ever even been around in my life, but I can tell everyone is starting to enjoy school again. So I know next year when I enter the Upper school I know I will walk in happy, but minutes later, the bordem will hit again.

P.S my topic kind of changes a bit... growing up grade eight..

8B. Craziest Class In The World

School: A place where your a prisoner of for the first twenty years of your life, Grade 8:Grade eight is a term coined to describe incredibly immature behavior most predominantley present in grade eight students. this is not a derogatory term for a grade, but an attitude; these are the people who saw napoleon dynamite only because it became a trend. Thats more like it. Our grade eight class is probably the weirdest, most immature, hyper and best class anyone could have. It's filled with a bunch of kids who are always hyped up and just want to go crazy.

We've got Evan, Brendan and Remy who fight all the time, Wyatt whos alway making weird sounds and impersonations, Keegan and his monkey noises and then we land on Cassie. Cassie likes to make man voices, and talk ALOT. Despite the fact on how strange she is, shes still one of my best friends. Like one time we were in french class cassie was hunched over in her chair and started singing, "It's raining men hallehlouya." Doesn't sound funny, but it was in the lowest possible voice a girl could. Also she thought no one could hear her, but really everyone could.

Other fun times are when Wyatt yells "YEEEEEEEE DOGAAY!" when a teacher hands out a "fun" project. By far the Remy vs. Evan fights are my favorite. Now Remy is kind of shy and quiet it seems, but when him and Evan start talking, there fun fights get pretty hilarious. If I were to talk about everyone in our class this blog would go on forever, and even though are class is insanely weird, you got to love them :)

The Cove.

Bottle nosed dolphins are beautiful marine creatures that are found all over the world in tropical waters. They are normally found in lagoons, coves and harbors. I'm not going to write and bore you with useless information about dolphins. I need to tell the world the truth about what's happening to these animals in areas of Japan.

The past few weeks our class has been watching a documentary about the Dolphin Masacar in Tigi Japan. There were people who were trying to understand what the dolphins were saying by planting underwater cameras and voice recorders. Whoever made this documentary was very good and built up to seeing the awful things done to these creatures. When we first started watching it I thought they would only kill one hundred dolphins or so and It's regular to eat the meat. I was far off.

In a small cove, at night dolphins are trapped in fences after innocently swimming into this cove without knowing what will soon happen to them. The dolphin saver people went in at night very discretely and planted hidden cameras in view of the cove. The next morning while watching the video all of the dolphins were stabbed in the spine and killed. The whole cove was filled with blood. When I was watching I couldn't even believe it was real. The sounds they were making, was so sad. It made me really want to stand up and help stop this awful thing, now it gets worse.

They pack the dolphin meat labeling it as whale meat. Dolphin meat is toxic. When people eat this they get very sick, for pregnant woman it can cause deformation to there babies. The sickness makes your senses slowing start shutting down and you are unable to function. None of this makes sense because they kill thousands of dolphins and they aren't used for anything. The government tried to cover up all of this for years until the Cove caught film of what's really happening.

So all I ask of you is to watch the video. I know it's not pleasant but it will really help you understand whatss happening in our world. Text dolphin to 44144 and you can help make a difference. Help save the dolphins.

Facebook

Picture. Videos. Wall Posts. Games and Walls. Facebook is the best invention the world has every had. Personally I think it's a great way of communicating with your friends and family. Many people use it to reconnect with old friends from school a while back. I won't lie but I go on facebook everyday in the school year, and I'm obsessed along with 300 million other people in the world. Facebook is great and all but the amount of time people are starting to spend online is getting a bit ridiculous.

Their are more then four hundred million people currently using facebook. 50% of the users sign in every single day, and some even spend 29 billion minutes per month on facebook. Each day there over 55 million status changes take place and 180 million pictures are uploaded. This whole facebook scene is starting to change and go over the top. Facebook needs to change the way it functions before things get out of control.

All in all facebook has positives and negatives. I didn't mention the way facebook can be dangerous because i'm looking at the more important things. It can be good at times for certain reasons, but otherwise we should be spending are time doing something a bit more useful. So next time you sign in, think about what the reason for it is.

super size me?

I read an article in the news paper the other day called super size me. When you hear "super size me" you probably think of the movie where a man only eats Mcdonalds for a whole year, but I'm not talking about that. This article is about people who spend all there money on food to become the worlds heaviest person. They want to be? These people must not be realizing the impact this will have on there body and mind one day.

How do they make the money to spend on all of this food? Video taping themselves eat it for men to watch. Donna Simpson makes seven hundred and fifty dollars per week off of this.My opinion on it, I am disgusted to even talk about this. It's sad enough when you see people walking down the street who are larger then life. Those people don't want to have 200 extra pounds bouncing up and down when they walk, or have to ride around on a scooter because it's not possible for them to stand. The super size me people want that, they love the way it feels having fat jiggle when you run. Bouncing when you fall, being so weak you cant function. This is the most disgusting thing possible to do to yourself in my opinion.

So what I learn out of this article is that some people have issues. Wanting to be massive is never good, and those people are going to get very sick and will never be able to get the way they were before again. One day they will learn from there mistakes, and wonder why they would ever try what they did. All I am telling you, is it would be one of the stupidest things you could do to your body and yourself. The mental impact that could end up having on you would be devastating. So just don't "try" to be fat, you'll regret it.

COMMENT OF THE WEEK

http://andie-xoxo.blogspot.com/2010/02/barnaby-bellie-boogly.html#comment-form, andies imaginary friend blog.

uniforms.

Uniforms have both positive and negative impacts on schools. If there are people interested in coming to our school because of the acedemic and extracurricular greatness of our school, they might have second thoughts once they see our uniforms. Some people might think it is a good idea so people will not be underestimated by the type of clothing they wear or if they wear the same shirt more then once. Others may think uniforms are just punishment that the principle wants you to act like a member of some club and makes them look more "professional". I just think there fine.

Some of the pros of wearing a uniform is that you don;t need to think about what outfit to wear. You just wear shirt, tie, quilt, and socks everyday. The only choice you need to make is if you will wear a cardigan or a sweater vest. The negatives of wearing a uniform are that you buy all of these clothes and you never get a chance to wear them. The most annoying thing about uniforms is how much the teachers care about how there worn. They don't have to wear uniforms, they have no say in what we look like. First of all we are already forced to wear ugly suits all day everyday, they can't make us look any worse. And, on top of that were not aloud to wear bright nail polish, colorful undergarmets, or make up. IT's not fair.

So, now you know that uniforms are horrible and okay. I just feel that the teachers need to stop caring how there worn because, what does it matter? Why do they care so much what we look like? I mean were already wearing the same thing, why can't we just touch them up a little bit? Think about that?

WIPE OUT!

If i could be on any game show in the whole universe it would be Wipe Out. Wipe out is an exilerating challenge filled with challenging obstacle courses and intense curbs. While watching this great show it seems like it would be the most fun in the world to take on this extremely difficulty challenge.

One of the first obstacles you overcome is the sucker punch. For this obstacle there is a wall with automatic arms with punching gloves on the end that move in and out to knock the competetor off of the beam into the mud. This is one of the most difficult ones because the beam is very long and thin, therefore being easier to know down. Before and after the sucker punch is all running on a slippery surface with mud on either side.

The next major obstacle is the big balls. Basically the reason i want to go on this game show is because of this obstacle. On this section there are four MASSIVE balls that you hop from one to the other to reach the other side. On the game show only one person has made it across all four. Most just make it across to the second. I think that if I was chosen for this show I would make it across easily the first time.

So now you know what an amazing show this must be just by reading about two if the many obstacles on this show. Trust me you won't be disapointed with this show. Basically the point of the show is to laugh non stop at the people constantly epically failing on the obstacles. So the only reason I would like to be on this show, is because I'm pretty sure it will be the most fun i will ever have.

what to learn this term in LA.

Language Arts. The subject, including reading, spelling, and composition, aimed at developing reading and writing skill.
That is the usual language arts, but this term i think we should make things a little bit different. I'm sure the rest of our class agrees that they are tired of the usual week, reading books, blogging and watching youtube videos. This term I think we should spice things up a bit. So I will go throught every day of the week in which we have LA class.

Monday- Every monday we should start off by asking everyone how there fantastic weekends were, and then watch some funny youtube videos we saw on the weekend. This will start our week out in a positive way to make us more excited for the following days. After the fun, we can work on touching spirit bear.

Wednsday- Wednsdays are already great days, blogging shouldn't be changed because it gives us time to chat, and relax a bit.

Thursday- Thursday is SURPRISE DAY!! This is the one day of the week when Ms. Weldon can do what ever she would like. Thursday is the day when a bit of teaching has to take place in order for us to get marks. Ms. Weldon, all i say is that it can't be boring.

Friday- MOVIE/SKIT DAY! On movie and skit day we get to show our acting skill, and enjoy relaxed movie time. (educational movies of course)

So ms. weldon all i ask of you is to consider this week, we can do it once, or every single week, what ever you want. Please consider this amazing oppertunity to help you, and the class.

Ski Racing.

Ski racing is an important part of my life and has played a major role in my personal growth. I have made many friends and dedicated lot's of time and energy to the sport. It has helped me understand how much effort goes into being the best.

My ski friends have made my winter weekends a great time. Not only do they offer me competition in my races but yet give me support when I need it. A few of us have been best friends since we were 4 years old on the grizzly bear ski team, and some just joining in a few years ago. As our skills have developed the competition has grown and gotten more intense.

To become a ski racer requires a huge dedication to the sport. Three days a week from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm we train hard. No matter what the weather may be the training goes on. If there is a snow storm a rain storm or just super cold we will be out on the slopes. Some may ask "why train so much?" The answer is the competition from the other clubs is growing and we need to get ahead on our gate training.

All in all ski racing has impacted my winters in the greatest way possible. From my friends to my achievements it always stays a fun and happy environment, well maybe not always...hehe

Forgetting Haiti

January 12, 2010 . The earthquake hit over a month ago and aid was their immediatly. The whole world was there to help until Febuary 12 when the Olympics began. The Olympics are great, dancing, and sporting event at the top level. This is the only thing seen on the News now a days and the world is beginning to forget the disaster that has happened in Haiti. So it's time to put things back in perspective and remember what is really happening out there.

Right now in Haiti over 200 000 people are dead, and over one million people are homeless. It is beleived that it will take over three years to clear away all of the loose rubble from this broken city. I feel the olympics should and will get attention, but they need to keep updating so people will not devote all of there time to the olympics when help is still needed. %%%%%

So, this blog may just have reminded you of whats really going on in the world, but tell your friends so you know that the people won't be forgotten. For me, I even wrote this and it makes me sad to think even when there are such great things happening and then you remember the terrible ones. Therefore, when your watching the olympics and hoping for Canada, give some of that hope for the people in Haiti.

Greeting, my name is Salotine McMicky. My bestest friend in the whole wide world is Roary Snippets. (also my only friend ) Roary and I go way back, almost to the time when the madcow disease broke out in 1996. I work at Monsters Inc, scaring children through there closets at night and enjoy blogging, dancing and eating twinkies.

So, first I'm going to tell you what Roary and I do for fun. From Monday to Friday mornings I come with Roary to school. In the afternoons on those days we usually just go home and play games after eating our pb and j sandwiches. When we play it's usually on roarys xbox. Normally were playing Spyro, or Spiderman adventures. Before dinner we head downstairs to watch our favorite T.V show Zoey 101. Bed times at 8:00.

Therefore Roary is the perfect friend to me because he loves to play and watch everything
i like to do. If you haven't guessed yet... I'm Roary's imaginary friend so I like whatever he likes. All in all we are the bestest friends anybody could ever have and nothing could ever stop that!

Repeat Of A Day

If I could repeat any day of my whole life, it would be hard to choose just one. I could use the day I won my first ski race, or the day I learned how to water ski. I've had alot of good days in my life, but If I could redo just one it would have to be the day I was in two countries at once.

What I mean by "being in two countries at once" is while I was in Switzerland a few years ago, I crossed the Italian boarder on skis. Zermatt to Cervinia, on the highest point in all of Europe. That was the end of the day.. so lets head back to the beginning of this outrageous day.
The day began with a delicious breakfast of bacon, eggs and pancakes at our hotel. We then got geared up and head up the mountain. It's quite interesting how you make your way up Zermatt. First, you hop on an underground train that takes you half way up the mountain, then get on a tram which took us to the highest point. At the top it was very cold but as soon as we crossed the border on our skis that didn't even matter. We were in a new country, on skis. For lunch that day we had the best pizza I have and will ever eat in my entire life. After we skied the rest of the day, and went into the village of Zermatt for dinner.

All in all that day was pretty great, but the best part is... i get to do it all again on March break when I go back to Switzerland! The only think I would do to change is the weather :)

SUPER A!

Super powers. Sounds awesome right? Right. If I could have any super power in the whole world it would be teleporting. I mean teleporting. You can go anywhere in the snap of your fingers. For instance in the mornings, waking up so early to get to school. That would never happen again with teleportation! Bam, Boom, Bam! YOUR THERE! Anywhere, Any Time, Any Day you will be there.

So, Now that I have told you my super power, I will tell you my super hero. Super A is the name, fighting crime is the game. My super heroes name is Super A. Super A fights down criminals in Schools. Pencil stealers, Test Copiers and of course, wedgie givers. I fight down the school bullies who are giving the "different" kids trouble. My technique is to dress as a nerd and wear running shoes so I can get to the principal super fast. This is when teleportation comes in handy. Running shoes aren't nescasary when I have my teleportation to take me to the principal. The nerd costume will help me get close to the bullies so I can pull off my mask and they will see the strength that lies beneath me. Super A will be wherever she needs to be at any time! Keeping the middle school a better, yet safer place.

To conclude, I'd like to say that being a super hero would be amazing. When a younger kid is about to be pounded by the big grade eight bully, I will be there to save the day! SUPER A TO THE RESCUE!

anyone for the day.

If I could be anyone in the whole world for one day I would be Taylor Swift because she is an amazing singer, and friends with Justin Bieber and all of the Jonas Brothers. It seems like she has just about the perfect life. So let's get started about my day as her.

If I were Taylor Swift the first thing I would do is go downstairs and my chef will make me a super yummy breakfast. After this, I would head to the fashion plaza in California and start the new trends. Next I would head to a fancy resturaunt with Justin, Taylor, Joe, and Nick. (noone wants kevin) We would be having a great time, eating expensive foods and chillaxin.

Finally comes night, If I were Taylor I would obviously have a huge house. That means I can have everyone sleepover in my big bedroom! I would have a big party with all of my friends and we could stay up all night. Then at midnight I could head over to J Lenno and preform on the late show! Busy day.

So all in all Taylor Swift would be amazing to be.. but I don't think I would want paparazzi following me everything I do would get a little insane. So for now I would like to stay the way I am.

SORRY ITS SO LATE.. KEPT FOR GETTING TO POST..

Did You Know? No I did not know.

Did you know, China will soon become the largest english speaking country in the world? I didn't until our teacher showed my class a video on all of these insane things that are going on in the world. The video made me understand technology is becoming more and more advanced faster then you can imagine. So quickly that in 2013 there will be a 1000$ computer smarter then any human brain. It seems almost impossible.

The education world is changing. If your starting a four year technology course in college, everything you learn in the first year will be outdated by the third year of learning. It's ridiculous to think that the people in the course will have to switch everything they have learned, because of the new technologies. Preparing the learners today for jobs that don't yet exist seems a but farfetched. It's all changing so fast that we won't have the time to learn these things if we don't start now. Our world is changing so rapidly I find it near impossible that it will really happen.

Worldwide web is dominating earth. 200 million people on myspace? If that were a country it would be the fifth largest in the world. The question I was suppost to answer was, "What does it all mean" and to tell you the truth I have no idea what it means. The world is doing fine the the way it is so why do we need to change all of this. Computers smarter then the brain? We should be worrying about the important things. People are dieing in Africa of starvation and here in Canada we've got couples meeting online. So what does it all mean? You tell me.
